Final Payment
Final payment to complete PMRP purchase is due on July 15, 2013.
Refinancing with the AF
The RRGCC and AF get together to refinance the remaining mortgage, saving the RRGCC approximately $10k!
Officially Non-Profit
The RRGCC officially obtains our non-profit, 501(c)3 status from the IRS.
The PMRP
RRGCC formally re-names property as the “Pendergrass-Murray Recreational Preserve”.
Restraining Order
On February 4, 2004 obtains a Temporary Restraining Order against Charmane Oil Co. compelling them to stop blocking access and towing cars.
Historic Purchase
On January 20, 2004 the RRGCC purchases the Murray Property from Mattie Murray.
Bolting Ban
US Forest Service bans bolting in Red River Gorge.
Climbers Towed
Charmane Oil Co. blocks climber access to Murray Property and tows climber’s cars.
The Right
On September 25, 2002 the RRGCC obtains an option to purchase the Murray Property.
MOU with USFS
Signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the US Forest Service on February 7, 2000.
Friendly Terms
RRGCC President, Hugh Loeffler, obtains express permission for climbing on the Murray Property.
Humble Beginnings
Red River Gorge Climbers’ Coalition formed in response to Draconian US Forest Service “Climbing Management Guide” lifting bolting ban.
Southern Exposure
Climbers establish first sport climbing routes in the “Southern Region”.
Inheritance
Mattie Murray inherits the D.B. Pendergrass property.
Tracts of Land
Daniel Boone Pendergrass purchases two tracts of land in Lee Co., Kentucky, one along Bald Rock Fork and one in Coal Bank Hollow.
