RRGCC Meetings of Early 2014

January 17th, 2014 by Yasmeen

The RRGCC Board of Directors held its yearly Strategic Planning meeting at Torrent Falls on Saturday, January 11th, 2014. Among the topics discussed were:

  • Grant opportunities and applications for 2014
  • Potentially hiring an accountant starting 2015 to handle RRGCC funds and filing the 990 each year
  • The status of the RRGCC Memorandum of Understanding with the US Forest Service
  • Officer re-elections (positions reflected on the Meet the BOD page)
  • Discussion of the newly open BOD member position
  • Options for surveys of the RRGCC’s land
  • The need for storage space for the RRGCC’s tools and event paraphernalia
  • A SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analysis

The BOD would love to hear your input on these topics and more. If you’d like to make your voice heard and/or get more involved, please join us at an open meeting at Pine Crest Camp Lodge at 9:00 am on Saturday, March 8th, 2014.

    Hi,
Would like to attend your open meeting, though not a rock climber. My daughter is very involved with rock climbing though. I’d like to attend to see about any collaborative efforts on a possible bouldering/fitness gym idea on the property we just purchased on Rt. 11. We bought the Daniel Boone Trading Post and will be opening it later this spring. My daughter informs me there is nothing for climbers to do on rainy days, days off from climbing, etc so I was trying to think of something to offer climbers on these days. Our shop will have a coffee shop/smoothy bar/small deli with wi-fi so I hope that will be attractive to all visitors to the area. We will offer some climbing and camping gear on limited basis. We will also put in a small laundry facility and showers. So I am just looking for ideas that may be desired in the area and of course supported somehow.

If this is of any interest to you please let me know and I’ll attend the meeting to discuss. I can be reached via email above.

    Thank You,
    Nancy Hamann
