In a historic moment for climbing access, the RRGCC is excited to announce our largest land acquisition ever- right in the heart of the Red River Gorge!

Here are the cliff notes (pun intended):

  • 10 years in the making
  • 14 miles of cliffline
  • 718 acres
  • $1.7 million purchase, made possible through several landmark partnerships

And now we need your help to open it for climbing. Help us make history in the heart of the Red by donating today! As a thank you, you’ll receive premium gear and apparel from Black Diamond, while supplies last.

Black Diamond has generously gifted over $11k in gear to make your donation even more rewarding. Visit our campaign page to contribute toward the infrastructure needed to make this climbing accessible!

Update: Due to the generosity of our community, all Black Diamond incentives have been claimed!

A Note on Access to Cave Fork Recreational Preserve

RRGCC's Conservation and Stewardship Committee asks that the public does not access this land until our Land Management Team has the opportunity to build up the necessary infrastructure (trails, parking lots, etc.) for sustainable, long-term use.

Hog Gap, Piggly Wiggly, & The Arcade are not part of this acquisition and remain located on private land. Please respect the landowners' wishes and avoid trespassing.
